Named “a talent to watch” by The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew is a writer and director based in NYC. His directorial debut, THE SKIN OF THE TEETH, premiered at Newfest and Outfest before playing a limited theatrical run in NY/LA. The film was described by critics as both "Get Out meets Grindr" and "David Lynch directs an episode of Law & Order: SVU” and lauded as “an example of visibility done right.”

Matthew also publishes speculative fiction, sometimes under his own name and sometimes under the pseudonym Matt Wile. His writing can be found in Amazing Stories, Andromeda Spaceways, and Mythaxis, among others, and an excerpt from his novel-in-progress was published in Del Sol SFF Review. He is a graduate of the Sackett Street Writers Workshop.

In all his work, Matthew is most interested in exploring the mutability of identity, particularly through a queer lens, and plumbing the bizarre depths of the human soul in delightfully unexpected ways. He is currently developing a number of projects around these themes.

In addition to his creative endeavors, Matthew is an lawyer working on a range of antidiscrimination issues, including securing the right to abortion in Ohio and challenging Virginia’s felon disenfranchisement scheme.
